  • 4 large egg yolks

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 4 ounces bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Whipped Cream Topping:

  • 1½ cups heavy cream, chilled

  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
