Instructions:
- Melt butter over medium heat in a large pot. Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add sliced kielbasa to the pot.
- Pour chicken broth into the pot and bring to a simmer. Use 4 cups for a thicker soup or 6 cups for a thinner consistency.
- Add sauerkraut, bay leaves, and kidney beans. Cook for about 10 minutes or until beans are tender and flavors are well blended.
